From the artist's
website:
I create wearable art, wigs, and headpieces in Neo-Baroque and Avant-Garde styles. My creations serve to submerge the viewer, audience, or participant. From tame realistic period looks to something otherworldly. The goal is to find beauty in bizarre and facilitate flamboyance for everyone, elevating their experiences.
From an early education and career in communications arts I became interested in 3-dimensional art forms. Self-taught, I’ve developed my own techniques and proficiency through trial-and-error in the studio as well as many public experiments. I work with combinations of materials, fibers and techniques to create innovative, exaggerated pieces that are also durable, functional, sustainable and, ultimately, wearable art. My diligence develops the unique ingenuity and a high standard of production. Through my studies professional practices have been developed that are recognized locally with a growing international profile.
About this piece
Theatre House asked Stacey to create something amazing for a one of a kind buying opportunity. We wanted to offer something amazing, bold and beautiful. Stacey has outdone herself with this piece. We call this piece The Donna.
With 1950's bouffant inspiration, Stacey brought modern color and style for this creation. You are purchasing this item and it will come mounted on a foam head, pre-styled and wrapped in netting. It will ship in a box large enough to contain the wig wrapped in nylon net.
This is a one of a kind creation and we're excited to bring these to you.
